Perfect Sunny conditions not a cloud in the sky and on a duel CW travelling a little fast. Notice cars slowing down in front of me and then get to see the talivan parked up in the layby with the back window up!! By this time I had seen the van and there was traffic blocking me on the inside lane.. About 3 secs later my Snooper S5R give me a laser warning at which stage I was already doing about 70. My question is when my Snooper went off would this of been when the laser gun was fired? and when the reading was taken? If not I could be looking at a NIP here.. When it went off I was about 3 - 400 meters away. Also the Jag in front of me was steaming even faster!

It is possible for a laser to be pointed at your numberplate and not be detected.

But from what you say it appears to have been a target rich environment. Also from seeing TV programmes it appears that the vans tend to keep the cameras steady in one place instead of moving around for targets.

I wouldn't panic unless a brown envelope arrives within 14 days

They don't need to be accident blackspots - that was just a big rouse to make the public feel better. Realistically they can park where they like, which means they will park where it is safe to speed.

Go figure...

Depending on what car you were driving, your speedo would have been inaccurate anyway, so you were probably in the region of 63/64mph. If the talivan was following guidlines and was using the 10%+2mph, then you should be fine.

At least I hope so.
