It looks like I've just got another camera ticket which will take me up to 12 points. This last ticket follows two others in the past month(!). I do have points rolling off in July and in November this year, but even then I would be up at 12 with the latest one. What is maddening is that each one has been marginal (36 in 30mph at 6.10 in the morning, 51 in 40 mph at 10 past midnight and 38 in a 30 at 6.45 am. The roads were always clear.....

I have three questions I'd like some help with.

1. What is the best way of delaying things until July and even November, without making things worse for myself.

2. Is there an argument to try to be hit with them all as quickly as possible but have the last one go to court to allow me to ask for as short a ban as possible, given the relatively low speeds I was going and the times I was caught?

3. I will, reasonably, argue the need for me to keep my licence - work, disabled mother, children etc. If I do manage to get only a short ban, would the points still be cleaned off?

Sorry to hear about your points Eric, sadly i'm in exactly the same position, with my points amassed all on dual carraigeways at borderline speeds for collecting revenue for the government.

You will be able to delay things for a few months, by keeping the NIP for 28 days, then keeping the offer for 28 days, then waiting x amount of time for your case to work its way through the mountain of other speeding cases that the fiscal/CPS has to wade through. (i've been waiting 2 months for court date so far)

Although i think its the date you were caught that is used when totting up your points over a three year period.

I suspect at some point you will be asked to attend court under totting up, regardless of the other offences, i suggest a solicitor and a good story as allowances for hardship are not always excepted.

If Disqualified, your licence will be wiped clean of points, then insurance will be interesting.

Good luck.
