In the following scenario, which did not ever happen.... and there's no proof it did, what should you do?
You are on a motorcycle at 12:30AM in town at a moderate sized intersection with no other traffic about. The traffic lights have gone over to "We will change when we detect the weight of a car mode" and therefore ignore the motorcycle completely.
Wheeled the bike back and rode over the sensors again. Flashed headlight in case the traffic lights were light activated.
Despite this, the lights change through three phases without ever going green for you and it becomes obvious you have three choices.
Go through a red light (visibility 100M in each direction, perfect street lighting)excercising real care as you know you would be doing a "Wrong un", wait and run out of petrol, or die of hypothermia.
What to do???

I think that you are supposed to find anothre way around - no circumstances in which you can cross a red light.
However....
In the real world when this might have happened to me I would eventually go through with great care.
Then the technical answer. What about back the bike up to last driveway, stop motor, dismount, push on pavement to road, cross, push into the road, remount and ride on.
And no need to visit the gym for a few weeks.

Not that it ever happened.....
I would hypothetically excercise great caution.... and get across sharpish....
How sad is it when I gave serious consideration to getting off and pushing. Thought it might be a bit dangerous pushing a 900cc motorbike across a main road in black leathers at night in riding boots that make even walking difficult!
Apparently some woman in Aus waited three days before being rescued.
Just wondered what a BiB's take on this is?

)I hate this. In Bedford, the lights at Polhill Avenue/Kimbolton Road and Onion Street/Bromham Road not only won't change for a bike, they don't even run through any kind of a cycle. The Onion Street ones are particularly annoying as they are obsessed with remaining set for Bromham Road even when there's no traffic anywhere in the middle of the night... if a car pulls up on Onion Street, they'll eventually change for it, but remain green for only about two seconds, so if you're back up the road you have to cane it to get through...

As most traffic lights need flinging in the skip then just ignore it like most symbols of government. After all you probably didn't vote or voted for the other lot and traffic lights are a clear manifestetion of wholly anally retentive minority government concerned about its future. Truth is beauty and beauty is truth, go through and be blessed with the force.

I think three complete cycles is a reasonable time to wait. Personally, I wouldn't cross them unless I could be 100% certain it was safe to do so and I didn't think they would change in the forseeable future.
A) you are extremely vulnerable on a bike at junctions. Get it wrong and it's probably bye bye leg.
B) If you do have an accident, legally you haven't got a leg to stand on (See point A above too
