The A5102 CLICK

Is due to be reduced from 60mph to 40, and from 40 to 30 later down the road.

It is being done to improve traffic flow (WTF it quiet 99% of the day anyway?!) And to allow padestrians to cross easily (What padesterians?). These limits have been in place for years, with no major accidents. It is a fast wide open A-road.

Can people PLEASE get involved by the 28th and fax my local MP Patsy Carlton with objections.

Thanks.

And if my MP is not the best person to contact, can we find out who is, and bombard them with objections.

WE CANNOT ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN!!

It will have happened because a little man with a bad suit and matching attitude on the local council once saw a sports car trundle by with a comely wench therein.

Like the rest of an inadequate life, plagued by feelings of inferiority, jealousy and bitter resentment, such inspiration provides the fuel for his petty motivations.

Vermin like this are the undoing of Albion; the taxman, the inspector of nothing and chairperson of sexual human race equality quango No.5 - all should be unceremoniously stripped of employment and told by text message to shut up and p1ss off.

Inexcusable behaviour by appalling lefties.

I dont think its your MP its the local council that will be making the decision. If you get a name and address I would be please to object. Take a look at the ABD website for advice. www.abd.org.uk/index.htm

Spooky......
A mate of mine calls me, and tells me he's taking his first driving lesson, then somebody else posts a message on this forum with the same name as him. Then I read this post, click the map link, zoom in once, and it sits on top of the farm I was brought up in !!!!!! Don't remember having anything to make me paranoid???
It's a long time since I moved away, but I remember this road as being a lovely wide A road, in fact a lot better than the NSL roads we have here in Devon. 30 mph?????? better take a book if your gonna go down it then.

I had an incident involving pedestrian down this road actually. I was driving back from London once and so had spent three hours staring at cats eyes on the motorway, and was coming down here eastbound (NSL bit)following a car.

I saw a large group of runners cross the road ahead of the car in front, and then one stay on the left side of the road. So I assumed she was aware of the presence of two cars and cruised about 50 at a safe distance from the car in front.

Then, well after the other car had gone, she just dived out into the road a crossed right in front of me. I was quite happy with the speed of my reaction and controlling the stop, but I think if she hadn't have got out of my way by crossing the road I'd have hit her... she couldn't have been more than a couple of yards from my front bumper.

I took a moment to get my breath and then drove on, and she waved to me as she went past. Fair enough for her to acknowledge her mistake, but the stupid numpty shouldn't have dived out into the road in the first place.

So there ARE pedestrians, but I think thats the only time I've seen any. Instead of impeding everybody's progress by reducing the speed limit, why don't they just put a couple of pedestrian crossings in!?!

Yup..Council has to consider objections. They must have advertised the proposal in the local press with an address for objections, which are time-limited.

I cross that road on the way to Manchester Scareport

The last 60 to 40 I objected to went ahead, even though police wouldn't support it.

Official reason for reduction was high number of sheep deaths due to speeding vehicles. Sheep deaths increased subsequently.......

wot was that.........?

...Rover......

stop calling me Rover, you woolly arsed twat.....

It's NSL, wait for a big gap and put your hoof down!

Ditto 40 to 30 in the middle of nowhere.

County road safety officer didn't support it, (only ksi on the stretch being two twoccers under pursuit)

Local traffic unit comment was, "first we've heard of it, WTF are they thinking of! Are you sure you've got the right road?" (note quote marks)

Still went ahead..........

then I checked addresses of local councillors.........

aaahhh!

Then politicians wonder why we have such low opinions of them.
