Oh dear. This is bad news, but I believe there may be a way out if you can prove (or convince) that you bought the car in the honest belief that it didn't owe any money.

I'm no expert though - have a search for proper advice on this. Post it in SP&L.

Correct, you are no expert smile Ignorance is do defence and in these circumstances the OP can never get good title to the car.

So, in a nutshell, the OP will recieve any monies AFTER the finance has been settled. If there is no money left the OP has lost everything.
