Talk your way out of a ticket, i know if you cant face the fine then dont speed but the journey to my girlfriends house is down mainly one long 40mph road, no houses or people for the vast majority of it with 3 lanes. I am to worried about getting pulled to stray too much, but am always getting overtaken by people doing 80 - 90 and i'd say its safe on that particular road. I do find myself at 60 without meaning to be and if i got pulled on a clear day with little traffic do i have a chance of talking my way out of it?? If yes what should i say and what shouldnt i say. I've only had one brush with the police and that was a positive one to be honest.

Regards, Ben

Without wishing to extend into the realms of discussing 'The Attitude Test', when I went through basic training it was suggested we make our decision on what course of action we were going to take (ticket/warning/b'kin/btest etc) before speaking to the driver (exemplary mitigating circumstances excepted).

The idea being, that it then wouldn't matter what someone said or how they said it - since the outcome would already have been decided (using discretion based upon the incident which prompted the stop).

In reality however... oh yea, I said I didn't want to go there... ...someone else can start that one.

Can't remember the exact figures but...

50% of women cry when they get pulled over and 85% of them get let off.

1% of men cry when they get pulled over and 100% get let off.

Try crying!
