Small number plate legal size

Does anyone know what is the minimum size for a 5 character number plate?

Im thinking 330mm x 95mm would be ok?

(I want to keep the font, spacings etc 100% legal)

Don't think you would have a problem with that sized plate, as long as it was 5 digits or less and had the usual other legislation crap on it.

My car only has space for this size plate, it being an Aussie, and it's passed several MOTs no problem.

50mm characters + 11mm gap
33mm gap between groups

11+ 50+11+50+ 33+ 50+11+50+11+50 +11 = 338mm ?

Unless one or more of the characters is a 1 or an I?

Cheers ian, just did some digging and your right the smallest size while keeping everything legit would be 338x101mm
