Fender bender with a drunk driver

Sitting in a queue of traffic at the lights for a good 20 seconds, the car behind me has been stationary for the same amount of time. All of a sudden I feel a whack behind me.
I get out, inspect the damage and there is literally nothing apart from a small scratch which, on my snotter, is just not worth the hassle. I say to the guy "dont worry about it".
I assumed he'd been shoved into me, but he hadnt and he looked pi55ed to me - ruddy face, bleary eyes and slighlty slurred words. I'd already told him to forget about it though.
I got into my car and drove off - should I have called the old bill? Whats the form? Citizens arrest?

Doesnt matter. Call the bill and we'll always turn up to a bump where someone is suspected pissed. If he tries to walk off, you can always detain him, however it might not be worth the hassle unless he's going to drive off.If he goes to drive off, give the plate to the cops. If he drives off without giving details, thats a simple fail to stop.

If there's nay a scratch I'd doubt the boot/hatch will be dented!
I got rear ended 10 years ago by a pratt in a Chavalier. All looked fine, didn't swap details, not even a scratch on the bumper. Got home, boot jammed shut. Eventually freed it up and saw the state of the boot floor
