Asking for a copy of speeding camera photo

Managed to get myself a speeding ticket last week from a camera, I have no problem with getting the ticket, fair cop etc.

How does one go about asking for a copy of the photo?

The reason being that the car in question was made in 1931 and I want a copy on the wall

Thanks, the site is useful but there are no standard letters, (for good reason).

Basically I have to write and ask for the evidence.

I am in receipt of a Notice of Intended Prosecution for vehicle registration xxxxxx, at camera location yyyyyy at date and time zzzzzz. To aid in the identification of the driver I would be grateful if you could supply me any photos of the vehicle that may be available.

Don't mention evidence, as they won't supply the photos if you do.

When I was pinged a couple of years back there was a statement written IIRC in red bold letters on the offer of 3 points/small fine stating that I could not ask for the photo and if I did it would not be provided. If I wanted to see the photo then I should decline their offer and go to court where the photo would be produced as evidence on the day of the trial.

The police are not a very friendly bunch when it comes to speeding tickets.

A colleague of mine received a speeding ticket but as he didn't believe it was him and he asked for a copy of the picture and they sent it through. I get the feeling you may have to pay something for it though.

Some of them host the pictures online, they will provide you details upon asking (unless its already enclosed in the paperwork you have already received)

Sussex and Hampshire have both sent pictures to me every time I have asked for them to assist with driver identification

When I picked up 3 points about 4 years ago, neither myself nor Mrs O could remember who was driving so we asked for the photo which came free and promptly.

Unfortunately unless Mrs O had grown a beard it proved tht it was me

Although I'm not a lawyer...
Surely you are legally entitled to see any evidence used against you before going to court?

Hampshire was me! reasonably clearly identified by the aforementioned pictures - some wrangling over the issue of the 'alleged' original NIP which was never received, just a reminder, they wouldn't drop it, so sailing very close to the wind, I managed to time it out

Both times with Sussex it wasnt me, my vehicle but not me driving
