Essex has the most speed cameras of any county (90 fixed ones + mobiles). Last year 116 people died on its roads, an increase of 25% since it joined the Camera Partnership scheme.

So they're working then... :sigh:

Any normal logic would say that they're not addressing the real problem. Unfortunately, normal logic does not apply.... too much at stake.

Damn! You beat me to it! I've just seen this on BBC East as well and was just about to post about it.

The problem is that deaths are up 25% despite having more cameras than any other county in the United Kingdom. So what will they do to try and counter this rise? Introduce more scameras, no doubt...

Well my friend, the easiest way to screw them on that statement is to offer this one, especially in regard to deaths of kids: "So, youre saying your responsibility for deaths on the roads ends outside the speed camera's area of influence then?".

Nailed.

Yes, but the ones we really need to convince otherwise are the ones who believe it!

I believe that Hampshire Scammers have already said that.

Is that quantity of 90 fixed cameras for the whole of Essex accurate? If my memory serves correctly, there seemed to be that many just on the A13 "London" road coming into Southend plus another 90 on the A127 leaving!!

Thatr's where hypothecation fails - when the view from one gatso is blocked by the one 2 feet in front of it....

Simpo says - buy shares in gatso ltd - then you can afford to pay speeding tax :sigh:
