OK, here's the deal.

Firstly, Ecklers are a bunch of wasters having left out the US-only bulbs for the rear Euro conversion so I've got no indicators on the back until I can get some bulbs.

How are your front indicators and sidelights wired?

Basically, I have an orange bulb in the white part which is twin filament - orange sidelights and orange indicator. I then have the orange running light on the side. Now do you have an orange indicator in the white part with an extra sidelight in the white part or is your white part sidelight only and the orange part your indicator.

You see, I've disabled the DRL's but I'd like to restore them later but if I change the orange to an indicator, I can't. I can fit an extra light in the white part though.

Euro C5s have the front lamps arranged as follows,

The conventional front "side light" is provided by an additional small round unit* in the area that looks like a black intake (but isn't) close to the fog lamp.

The forward part of the main corner lamp unit has a clear lens with an amber bulb and is used as the front indicator.

The side part of the main corner lamp unit has an amber lens and is used as a side marker lamp (ie comes on with the side lights).

Behind the front wheel there is the conventional European additional amber indicator repeater.

Hope this is helpful.......

* I have no idea why the additional unit is necessary but presumably it would not be fitted unless required to pass type approval (not to be confused with SVA, MOT or anything else). There must be some type approval reason for not using a twin filament bulb in the front of the corner units I guess.

Many thanks. Weird.

The MOT manual says this:

Stop lamps or direction indicators may be combined in the same lamp housing as front and rear position lamps

...so in theory there is nothing wrong with having a white side light in the indicator compartment. Mind you, I suppose the Germans are more picky! I didn't realise there was a separate sidelight on Euro Vettes and having the Z06 with the mesh, that isn't really an option.
