Cruising in the autumn sunshine this morning....
C5 is a fine car and those wheels look great!

Did you buy 18/19 inch?
Which tyres?
Still have tyre pressure monitor system?

Very nice. Tell us more about your impressions of non runflats. Also where did you get the wheels from and did they bolt straight on?

Were the wheels sourced here in the UK or the US? How much if you dont mind me asking?

Don't forget guys if you want to buy wheels or anything else in the states and are unsure how to get them back or what your freight charges and duty and VAT costs will be give Steve or myself a call at Moving parts.
Even if you don't use us we are always happy to give you an indication of what Mr Brown will want off you for the privilege of bringing your bits back over the Atlantic.

ok id love to say the wheels came from some exotic location but unfortunately they only came from Bradford.
they are German wheels,Breyton Design, and are BMW stud pattern.
the problem with the corvette is the very large offset, around 60mm so anything you buy over here, unless custom made,is going to move further out.the wheels i got are 42mm offset so come out 18mm but luckily the arches on the corvette can accommodate this, just.
sizes are 18 front 19 rear with 245/40 and 285/35 to keep everything right,no tyre sensors, although you can swap them over if you want but theres not really a need because of having regular tyres.
the difference in the ride and general behaviour of the car is transformed without the runflats,it no longer jumps on potholes and is a lot smoother riding even though ive gone down a profile.definately recomended!
cost me less than £2000 all done.

I like those wheels a lot!

Where exactly did you get them in Bradford? Have you got a contact there I could speak to?

I've been thinking about getting some Chrome Z06 wheels (17/18) and tyres and it's going to cost me about the same as your package.

Are they high polished / chromed or what? - just thinking of longevity of finish in British winter...

Finally when you lose the tyre sensors, does the car beep at you warning low pressure for every wheel every time you drive it?

Cheers,

Chris

auto design in Bradford, main importer for Breyton and also the associate company to Kahn design.
the finish is actually a very bright 'hyper silver',ive had similar in the past and its pretty durable, easier than chrome.
i sourceed my tyres seperately 'cos i got a good local price(rotherham),wheels on there own were £1150.
i know its a cliche but the pictures dont really do the car justice, now its lowered and wheeled up it looks a completely different car.
one thing to consider is the rear wheels are slightly proud of the arch, like some of the guys in the US run,its only slight though and can be altered if i want to.

forgot to say, tyre monitor occasionally puts a message up on the DIC,but no beep and 'reset' shifts it.

[smug git] Didn't I say that real tyres were better ! [/smug git]

I must say those wheels and tyres really do fill out the arches, be sure you find a friendly MoT centre !

aha... Auto Design - i know where that is....

Sorry about all these questions but i'm really interested in your set-up.

What kind of tyres have you got on there?

When you say the wheels could be adjusted to fit in the arches a little more if necessary (for MOT purposes I guess) how would you do it?

Also, you mention you lowered your car - by how much, and did you just do it on the stock bolts like they talk about on the US forums? Is it easy?

Much appreciated!

Chris

yeah lowered on the stock bolts, dead easy as per instructions on corvette forum.

the wheels can be machined by auto design to remove up to 5mm off the back to let them in more, but i didnt bother.
you could always swap for the old wheels at MOT time, although i dont expect any trouble.
