We are looking at changing the colour of our 2001 C5 Auto. We realy like the Metalic Blue of the 2003 C5R Le Mans cars. Did they do a C5 in 2003 the same colour and does anybody know the paint code ?
Is there any graphic's kits that match the bonnet strips in red and white ?

The car is booked in the first week in December...

Not too sure about the colours question. The only blue in 2003 was code 21 Electron Blue Metallic
which was introduced in 2002. I think the Le Mans colour is slightly darker and was available on the 2004 CE edition.

Here's the link for the stripes:

THe 2001 metallic blues were Nassau Blue (light blue like a Peugeot 206 but slightly deeper)and navy blue. Electron blue was launched in 2002 and is similar to the popular Peugeot 307 colour. Here's mine.

Le Mans Blue is paint code 19U and was only available on the 2004 model year commemorative edition cars (RPO codes Z15, Z16 and Z18). Here's a good place for you to start: http://corvetteactioncenter.com/specs/2004/2004prod.html

The Euro commemorative Le Mans was a strange mixture of coupe and Z06 and seemed a lot of work for a car that can only have sold in tiny numbers. Anyone know why they did it that way? Come to that does anyone know why neither hardtop nor LS6 ever made it into a Euro car?

Probably to do with type approval and red tape.

Interesting article, particularly the detailed comparison with ZR1 performance and the comment that C5 interior is much better than some critics make out.
