Bruntingthorpe 7th August 2005
Discussion
Hi guys sorry for taking over the forum but this is for charity.
This event is a brilliant introduction to a track day its non damaging and you can go as slow or as fast as you like and I would love to have a ten car Corvette pit next to our Viper pit.
We have also been thrown a challenge by them pesky commies
The Soviet Block have called us out, they have heard of a Viper GTS with a blower.
The challenge is race a Soviet Yak 52 Aerobatic Plane for one lap of Bruntingthorpe airfield, the Yak in the air the Viper on the ground.
One lap only the Soviet Star v the Stars and stripes.
Put this date in your diaries August 7th 2005.
Please support us I also need 10 cars for our pit, format is charity rides for 'Wish Upon a Star'
£5.00 for each 'hot lap raised'

Not sure there will be any vettes available as we will probably all have blown up after Elvington the previous week!
It would be more fun if the Yak was on the ground and the Viper in the air!
I can probably make it so put me down as a "possible" as long as it doesn't clash with Bjorn's "charity" day at Goodwood.

Thanks Nigel,
Last year was so much more fun than Elvinton we earned 20k for children in just one day.
And did not get mobbed by Max Power base box fans.
Nor did we have to compete with cars that could just about cover a mile without going pop!!!!!!
BTW if your goes pop I would not like to be your engine builder.
Unless they have a

This years event was split into 4x 60 minute sessions with no noise limits, where you could do as many laps as you wanted, you have to stop in a pit area and pick a passenger up, do a lap, stop in the pit area and swap for another passenger, although you could do 2 laps one been a 'cool down' lap.
It was a hot day and quite a few were suffering with the usually over heating problems, they didnt use all of the two mile straight. In between the car sessions motor bikes went out, so if any of you are bikers I doubt there would be a problem if you fancied taking your bike instead. There was lots of performance stuff there Ultima's, a spanking new Lambo, TVR's, Lotus that sort of thing
It was sponsored by ASDA so all the food and drinks for the drivers was free, as was entry. They had sweepers out cleaning the track before the day, and was supposed to be out in between sessions but cant remeber seeing any.
At the end of the day a Skyline ran a marked quarter against a Lightening, not the Ford pick up, a old era jet fighter
