3 years ago I purchased a C4 windshield from U&W corvette parts, in Germany (I think they do have a website), for 540 euro + shipping (around 400 pounds at that time)
Maybe they are worth a try.

If you can get a stateside price I can let you know how much it would cost in freight, duty and VAT to bring it into the UK. It may work out cheaper.
Log onto www.moving-parts.com and e mail me with the details. All I will need to know is the size, weight and how much you pay in $

Try a guy called Peter Jones - 01582 881260 or 07836 208478. He is mobile and comes to your house. He had a screen for my 78 in stock! Came around the next day and charged me £325 - Claremont wanted £495 + VAT..

Any idea if he would travel as far as Bournemouth/Poole?

Just spoke to the guy, very helpful. Also told me that the HUD version I have is nearer £650 + Vat
as it has a Anti Glare material on the inside of the screen.

He is based near Bedford and will travel around to fitt them...

Be careful who you get to fit one, an ex employee smashed my windscreen, I had to have 2 replacement hud screens, the fitter made a mess of the first job (my hud displayed ghost images. The second job was still not right, the seal stood proud on the top running edge. Hence i sold the car, as i am a perfectionist, every time i looked at the car i noticed it.

importing a screen from anywhere surely is too much of a "cracked" glass risk ?
I need a C5 screen also ,please let me know who gives you the best price .

Sorry for my ignorance, but why are you paying the full price. I thought insurance companies replace screens and charge £50-£75 excess only and it does not count against you NCB...? Just worried incase it happens to me!

Check your cover carefully! They are more likely to exclude this on 'specialist' vehicles.

Just checked my cover with Admiral and windscreen cover is £50 excess and no exclusions except for windscreens not made of glass (ie perspex) and sunroofs...
Nothing about specialist screens. They also say they will contribute £100 towards a screen if you do it yourself and not through them.
