Hi Guys,

OK I need help, I am looking to change oem rotors, installed new oem last year and they are already warping (Getting vibration braking from high speed).

Any suggestions for rotor/brake combinations?

Also anybody supply in UK (at good price) or is it better to ship in from USA (Will be in touch Jim/Steve/Eric)

The only time I enquired about shipping brake discs from a dealer in the US it was going to be $350 shipping for a set of 4 discs - a significant increase on the purchase price.

Are you sure they really are warping? This paper presents some alternative explanations and cures:

Try these. German - so high shipping costs, but half the price of Brembo and designed for Corvettes.

I bought Powerslot rotors for my Z28 from these people who were easily the best on shipping (can't recall what it was exactly but I seem to recall about £500 for the lot including Hawk performance brake pads. They also stuck a "value" of $200 on the box for customs purposes without being asked.

The US may be your best bet as the dollar is about 1.9 these days and the Euro is about 1.3.

I fitted a set of Wilwood pots on the front of mine and I am not that impressed. The AP Racing ones and also the StopTech ones seem to be what the race cars in the US and over here use.

I have Movit brakes on my car and they are much better than stock.

Dave - don't forget that Richard Jeal is the UK agent for Movit.

Baer Eradispeed fitted to the pace car last year, they are superb but kept the stock calipers. Tried to get them from the states but they were on back order finally got from Bauer Millett for £1200 fitted. I've got the Brembos on the front of the SS, they are also excellent (but pricey!)

You could try EBC brakes, the distributor for green/red stuff pads. They do pads for the C5 and have rotors in their catalogue, but I don't know if they do rotors for the Vette.

Or you could simply get a specialist to make you a set of bells to fit proper discs to the car.
Maybe not the cheapest thing to do, but you shouldnt suffer warpage problems again, if indeed that is the problem.

I got this guy to make me a set for my granada using 310x32 floating discs. That should totally eliminate any warpage issues.
Good quality kit, but speed isnt one of his strong points.
