I need a new battery & have been quote £120 + vat, just wondered if that was the going rate......its a long time since I last changed the battery!!!!!

South East area.

OCW near Hanger Lane are the UK's AC Delco dealers and I would expect a similar quote from them. The good news is that they deliver for an extra £10.

I have read the very latest battery fitted to my 04 will not leak on the wiring below as some older models can, do not know part number but can not be that hard to find, also I have read about a mat that goes under battery to suck up any leaks.

£120 is pretty stiff but not unusual these days for a serious battery. After all, it's not going in a 1.1 Fiesta!

I don't think there's much scope for shopping around for a big saving. Unlike my lawnmower battery. Quoted £80 by the lawn mower shop so wandered off to my friendly local motor-cycle dealer and bought the same thing for £40. Crazy.
