Hi can any one help me on my 04 I have found a nick in the glass made by a stone, it does not look like it will get any worse to small for that, but has any one had these nicks or chips filled I have an idea it can be done but know nothing about it, or any good companies who may do this type of work, I know I could check it out on the internet but this may be the best way first, thanks for any help Mick.
A repair is probably covered for free under your insurance and wont affect your NCB. Probably best to call your Ins co as they may only do it for free when using their recommended man in a van.
We had it done to the vette a couple of years ago and was quite straight forward. RAC man came out to work and fixed it in the car park in about 20 mins. Only problem being the filler has now come out and we need to get it done again. It was quite effective while it lasted.

Hi had a "bullseye" (nothing to do with Jim Bowen, or Peter Kaye for those who know what I mean).
A "bullseye" is where a chip has caused a circular (around an inch or so) crack in one half of the laminate... So this was quite a big job, and messy.
Anyway, Autoglass were very good - it was covered on my insurance - and put on a vacuum press which sucked out the air in the crack, and then filled it back with silicon - and it's now 95% gone.
There is a chance that the windscreen cracks
when they try and repair it, but then your insurance should cover you for that...

RAC Autowindscreens and Autoglass both offer this service as do a lot of independent companies. Best to get it done asap so that dirt doesn't get in the hole.
My first one happened on the M20 on the way back from Le Mans in 2003 only 4 weeks after getting the car

I've noticed a couple of chips in my screen. Must be a corollary of engaging warp drive too frequently or is US glass rubbish?
No, it's not that Wayne. You see, as we are forever being told, European vehicles are so much better at handling than Corvettes, they can literally swerve out the way for any oncoming stone-chips..
