Two C6 Corvettes attended the Cheshire Cruise Wednesday evening. Both are red, one has black leather interior the other beige. One was sourced from Pendragon and the other from the dealership in Park Lane, London.
Those two are the first two official cars in the country. I met the two owners when I was invited along with other potential buyers by GM to test the C6 around the Ascari circuit in Spain.
The car handles like a Caterham, you can throw it sideways and it just helps you out and comes back no problems. Future Drifting Champion for sure! It just needs more power, roll on the Z06...
Hi Binky!! I believe Tony Cohen has about 4 C6's at his showroom, going up in a week or so to try one (well what are friends for!). How about fatboys car for the challenge under the 'who's got the fastest vette' topic, I'd say that he'll see off all vettes around with his exotic Camaro and your Camaro wouldn't do so bad either. Don't think the Pace car would quite cut it although its 420bhp and naturally aspirated, still can't talk Keith into a blower or bottle (unless it has alcohol in it). What do you reckon to Mr Kiplings new ride?
Hi there Heather, I have actually spoken to Tony to see if/when he can supply me with a C6 Z06...you'll love the stock C6, it is a great car, something you could drive every day, drag race, track days, anything, all for half the price of a squashed beetle. There really is nothing to compare it with as a standard new car. TVR? You must be joking. I like TVRs but you just couldn't do the same kind of day in day out mileage that the Corvette could do without thinking about it.
Fatboys Camaro would crucify these so called "supercars", it would just make them cry so best he isn't going really.
The reason I haven't entered the Camaro is that I am circuit racing that day in my Sylva against some Radical SR8s, SR3s, Jaguar JP1s, modified Caterham R500s, Westfield XTRs etc in the UK Endurance series (formerly Centurion Challenge).

A C6 came to our meeting last Monday and broke down. Seemed to be a fuelling issue and on checking with Corvette Forum, it seems like there's already an issue about duff fuel sender units. Not much consolation when the car is imported and the nearest dealer is 200 miles down the M4 (probably withouit any experience or much of a clue judging by past experience).
Bloody GM first year models - the Americans are right - wait until the guinea pigs have tested it first before you buy one. For those who doubt the wisdom of this, note the 1984 Crossfire Corvette which was only sorted into the TPi in 1985; the 1993 Camaro/Firebird with the non-vented corroding Optispark, resolved in 1994 and the 2001 Z06 whose oil-consumption and weak clutch were resolved in 2002. I'm sure there are others. I also wonder if they'll revise that styling for 2007.
