Thursday....sunny afternoon, not much work on - out with the Vet.
Bizarre....trundled up to the M60 north to the Trafford Centre at just after tea time, joined the Mway, with a red C6 behind! So - 2 Vettes, separated by 29 years, both red, in convoy. He left after 1 junction, big toots on the horn.
Had a mellow poddle up to Leigh, then back to the city centre. Cue LOTS of stationary rush hour stuff. Anyway got to a MAJOR crossroads with lights, slap in the middle....stalled (auto? hallo???) and yes, no charge at all to get her going. She lives on a conditioner/trickle charge. Pulled best I could with no P steering or P brakes to the side a bit. Still blocking a major lane. Police arrive v concerned....every bus and car in the North has to pull out round me, half of em glaring. Great car to break down in, in a of a spot. Nice guy in a Supra offered a jump start with my leads...OH NO left em inside pre winter. Total arse, with me stood 10 foot behind the Vette shielding it, apologising left right n centre.
RAC, I love you. Even asked me to drive to nicer spot for photos for his kid. No problem mate.
Apparently battery stuffed/no charge at idle, only beyond 1500 rpm. Thus city traffic bad.
Hmmmm....the auto electrician cometh....and the leads are back in the Vette!!!!
