As I'm sitting here feeling very warm its reminded me that the air con is not working on the green vette. It was only regassed around September so I think there must be a leak. Has anyone experience of an aircon specialist that might be able to help (usually they just regas and hope for the best!)

I used a mobile guy from Reading for Velveteen a couple of years ago, he pressure tested the system first before filling it.
The pipe running under the supercharger was rubbing on one of the bolts and it created a hole in the pipe was obvious once you could hear the gas escaping.

I lost A/C in another car a while back and the main dealer added a fluorescent dye when re-gassing the system so that the leak was easy to find and fix. Seemed to work well.

This thread - and the warm weather - makes me wonder about my aircon too (which isn't working either)...

Does anyone know whether I can just take the car down to any aircon specialist, or are the 'vettes system particularly peculiar? I have the factory shop manual anyway - but knowing zilch about aircon I don't want to be fleeced...

I had been meaning to fix my AC up for ages, after 2 very hot trips to Le Mans in the past I just had to get it done for this trip. Being too busy to do much with the car because of decorating, I took mine in to Claremonts which worked out really well as they had the car the day my lift arrived and I needed my garage empty. They fixed it up and converted it over to the new gas - at a price!! But what the heck at last its working and it saved me some hassle. It was £200 and something.
