Vette Annual Service & Test Drive in C6
Discussion
Had the vette serviced on Saturday with BM in Manchester, got to admit that for the money it didnt look like allot was done, namely just an oil change.... They didnt do airfilter as mines aftermarket anyway.... So not really sure what else was done...:(
Whilst I was there i test drove the C6 and again wasnt impressed with it, yes it looked great from outside, but the interior is a real let down and left me feeling really uninterested, the best thing about it was the keyless start and the buttons that open the door :) It felt a little bit more powerful than mine but not enough to make you think it was worth any extra money.... Anybody else been slightly dissapointed with the C6, I wont be putting my name down for one....

Yep know the feeling - at £80+VAT an hour labour and cunningly quoting you over the phone for prices for spares without the VAT the seriously overcharge. Esp on the oil and filter!
Drove the C6 about a year ago. I still own a C5 so I guess that sums it up.
For me it's not the great leap that the C5 was over the C4. It drives well and the extra power is nice but I still can't live with the looks. I see them around Vegas every day of the week and it is only just starting to grow on me.
I think the C5 is safe for a while....

I bought my brake rotors from these guys in the US. Excellent within the week service and they stick a small bill in for H&M import purposes.

also got told that i need new rear discs, anyone know where i can get some from here in the UK? will consider uprated ones please point me in a direction.
Just fitted EBC discs to my C5. £86 each, front or rear. Along with the Red Stuff ceramic pads they make a definite upgrade but no idea if that is down to one or the other, or the combinbation

Which is why there are no stamps in my books, just a documented and receipted history of oil changes and parts. Given that a rexcent survey showed that about 75% of servicing isn't done properly or at all, I'm sure it will be worth more than a stamp in terms of reliability.
Spot on, me too. I can understand a car under warranty going to B+M for an oil change (or can I?), even then I am sure Richard got dispensation to have his oil change done by a Vauxhall garage in Bournemouth.

You are correct. Cadillac Europe have said it is ok providing recommended GM parts are used (i.e. Filter and Mobil 1) but I only use the local Vauxhall garage for an interim oil change. For an annual service I still have to take it to BM.

Just spent a few days in Manchester and driving thru the city i spotted BM,it surprised me as it didnt look all that much from the front(just big enough for about 4 cars in the shop window),somehow i had this impression it was a large garage, there was a black C6 convertible in the window and i must admit ime starting to warm to the shape.
