This is being organised by Bjorn Arnils the guy who bought my 1973 Corvette. Both his wife and father died from cancer last year and in their memory he has rented the Goodwood Circuit for the day and has invited a group of friends with fast cars along for the day and we will be providing rides around the circuit (assuming we can get under the 105db limit).
There will be a number of supercars there on the day which will be available for passenger rides. You donate an amount of money to be driven around the circuit in the car of your choice :)
Even if you want to just come and watch then please put this date in your diaries. Yes, I know it's a Thursday, but it was supposed to be the Saturday the 13th, but Goodwood moved it!

Bjorn is organising this, but when I spoke to him a couple of weeks ago he was still looking for a couple of cars so you might get the chance. If it is like previous days like this I have attended, if you want to offer up your services then you will probably be welcomed!
I will check with him and get back to you.

M3 Fleet Services is too far North as we will be coming down the A34 which joins the M3 at Winchester, but it is south of the services.
I don't think there is anywhere we can meet that will be suitable for all parties.
A34 Sutton Scotney Services ,south bound?

"..... what I forgot to mention was that anyone with a special car can bring it along and display it, or take people round the Goodwood area to raise some more money for Cancer Research....."
Does the C5 classify as "a special car" in context Richard, or should I bring the big block?

What time is everyone planning to get to Goodwood? I know the drivers of track cars have to be there early, but is everybody else planning to arrive at the 10:00 start...?
A couple of us are coming your way we could meet up near your way state time and place. (Sent you an e-mail)
Briefly, because i'm trying to leave work, really great day, good variety of vehicles, well organised, nice weather, great bunch of people and hopefully, I think, plenty of money raised. Visit www.corvetteclub.org.uk for better descriptions and photos.
Not sure about how much was raised yet, but I felt I had to post to say what a splendid day it was and how it was a real privilege to be one of the cars raising funds. Not sure how many laps I did but my car was full to the brim on my first lap and on reserve on my last. Some of the guys there had completed over 1000 laps before the day in their cars (mainly GT40s) and they were very, very quick. I had three laps in the back of a BMW at 70 mph to prepare me, but the benefit of being shown the various breaking and turn in points helped immensely as did the marker cones. I started slowly and was overtaken by most of the other drivers but by the end of the day I was going a lot quicker. Not sure what the limits of my car were (the run offs at Goodwood are minute so I didn't really want to find out). My tyres were looking a bit ragged by the end of the day but the brakes held up really well (had the abs kicking in several times). What a fantastic way to raise money but there is a major downside - I think I'm hooked on track days!!!!!!!!!!!
