Simple question to ask but maybe not that simple to answer.

Just started to think that I'd fancy a C2. Now gonna do a little homework.

Is there any obvious ones to avoid....i.e engine size, gearbox, particular bad model years RHD..etc?

Any guidance would be appreciated.....or maybe someone could recomend a good buyers guide

Thanks

Sorry, I can't help but just wanted to add that if anyone has similar sources of info on the C3 I'd be very keen to read it.
Thanks.

Thinks to note on a C2.

1963 Split rear window Coupe, very desirable as it was a one year thing and is consider a design classic.

1965 Disk Brakes from this year onwards, also the 396 "porcupine" big block motor was introduced as an option. 2157 car built with big block.

1966-67 427 Big block motors.

1967 Is the most desirable (I prefer the 1966 or even a 1965) but the 1967 is considered the "classic".

On a personal note, my all time dream vette would be a convertible 1965 big block in red, with white hood and black interior with the oroginal turbo spline knock off wheels.

Things to avoid:
1. Autos - these are rare but are considered a no-no unless you are missing your left leg in which case hop in!

check out www.idavette.net for all of the specifications regarding engine specs etc.

Thanks for the info

I think I've probably settled on a convertible.

Are the 427's VERY rare and what would I expect to pay for good one but not concours and how much of a premium are they over a smaller engine?

Is there a particular source to locate one.

Thank you

You could try Rick Bufton at Vette Deams, in Essex I believe. He specialises in big blocks and mid years in particular.

Have fun, I have a '65 small block and its a hoot.
