Steering column lock, again!
Discussion
The column lock on the pace car gave up about 3 months ago and was sent by trailer to Bauer Millett for recall fix. New lock was fitted (so the ECU would see it I believe) and something else which actually disables the lock. We were told the ECU would have to be reprogrammed but as we have a custom programme did not want that done and the car has been fine until last Friday. Started up and got 'pull key wait 10 secinds', did that then got Steering column lock, so thought 'we don't really have one of those any more'so tried to drive and the fuel cut off! Tried disconnecting battery, disconnecting BCM for 10 mins no difference. Now being told that the ECU must be reprogrammed, any thoughts from anyone as the car isn't going anywhere at the moment (probably not to the Mopars!)
As far as we know the ecu was programmed using LS1 edit, the firm that did it in Texas are now out of business. I've spoken to Fastchip in Oklahoma (who programmed my Camaro and did a great job) and they say they can do it by either saving the current program and deleting the column lock bit, or completely reprogramming to our spec again if required.
