I've decided its time to sell my beloved C5... If you know anyone who's interested or might be interested send them my way, For more details drop me a line on 07879655195.

Anybody have an ideas where the best place is to advertise?

Sorry to hear you selling, depends what you want as a replacement, 'cos chopping the car in to a dealer might be an idea.

Any clues as to what a dealer might offer. I've had my Z06 advertised for a while (on here, autotrader and exchange & mart) and although in no particular hurry to sell I have less and less time to drive her :-( There's that ol' economy curve that says it might be worth cutting a couple of grand off to try and sell vs the possibility that there just aren't any buyers out there, so dropping the price isn't necessary (ie sit and wait for someone who wants the car).

A word to the wise on advertising. As noted here a few weeks back there are a number of scammers out there. Mostly you can tell them by the fact that they want to send you a deposit before seeing the car or by the fact that apart from the title of their email they make no mention of what the car it... even got one saying that they wanted to buy but needed to know whether it was petrol or diesel.

I sold my 2001 through the CCCUK site and it was free to advertise. I reckon that any genuine buyer looking for a Covette is likely to check there first.

I've worked out the sums and decided its costing me £80-£90 a week to use her which is essentially driving to work and back... I only live 4 miles from work I can also use the money for an investment I have going at the moment so the sensible thing is to let her go. just hate selling cars its a right pain in the ass......... Would love to trade it for something but I know the dealers will just offer silly money.... And the prices seem to be falling

So I use mine as a daily driver too...
50 a week on gas - I work 30 miles away
800 Insurance p/y
45 MOT p/y
165 TAX p/y
250 Service p/y
40 Other Oil Change p/y
120 Brakes p/y
400ish Tyres p/y
------------------
Total 4420 circa 85 quid per week all in.
Ok so MOT, TAX are for all cars so you are about right. Its the gas that kills it for me - are you really on 50 a week every week for only 4 miles? I do around 1500 per month.
