Anyone know a good source for f/r brake pads for a c5?

I contacted BM and they quoted;

The front pads are £182 incl vat
The rear pads are £131 inc vat
Carriage would be £9.40 inc vat

Seems very high? I checked out a eBay store in the US and got front and rear pads for $104 (Yes - DOLLARS!) And these are genuine GM!

Am I missing something here?

I've found brake pads to be pretty exorbitant over here. While you're replacing them (I don't know what brake setup you have - presume stock?) I'd go for carbon metallic pads: a little dearer, but really made a difference to the braking on my stock [C4] braking setup.

I paid $60 for a set of front ceramic pads for the Camaro whilst in Florida.

I would recommend Hawk Performance Pads - try googling for them. A company called Redline Mortorsports in the US supplied mine and obligingly threw in a low value invoice without being asked.

Get some EBC pads, not sure who the distributor is in the UK nowadays, think it used to be Sejoc or something like that, but both red and green are fine on the Vette. I've been running mine for a couple of years with no compatibility problems whatsoever and a lot less dust. Think I paid £125 for front and rear delivered.

BM are ridiculous on parts... Get pads from these guys for the UK....

BM are funny - ask them to fit someone elses supplied parts and they "don't trust them" - maybe because their margins are seriously degraded!

BM strike again. We just keep hearing "good" things about them, don't we.

Well I might be in the minority here but have always had superb service from BM, whether from the guys in the parts (maybe it helps having 4 chevys and getting good rates!) and also Chris McDonald on the service/troubleshooting side. We currently have a problem with fuel cutting off due to steering column lock failure and they could not have been more helpful.

Bm are pretty good and supply all the irritating small parts you can't get anywhere else. it's not a bargain (£25 plus VAT for a side repeater but it's a bespoke Euro Camaro item) and £10 plus VAT for a washer nozzle but then GM prices aren't cheap either. I priced a rear plastic Z28 badge in the US and it was something like $44.

Yup, fitted EBC Red Stuff pads and EBC discs a month back - very pleased. EBC gave me Powerstop Brakes as their supplier. Telno is 01608 646837. Helpful and fast delivery

I will not send you all asleep by telling you how BM did not supply me a new C5 03 again, but it the end Aurgeo Opel Wuppertal Germany did 1-0 to the Germans again, and there service was fantastic plus because of the BM delay I got an 04, can any one tell me how BM claim to be the only offical GM importer as the GM Europe site says its only for service, and most must now know that there is an offical dealer in Park Lane London.
