This afternoon myself and Andy190 set about putting the last touches to the Zed,we tightened up the last bolts, connected the last electrical plugs and fitted the last hoses checked the oil and water and got set to turn the key.

We took out the inj fuses and gave her some turns to prime the system with oil, then we refitted the fuses and at 1601GMT #1799 coughed into life once we had burped the system and the oil had warmed up she became quiet and purred like a Kitten, and the bad news.......there isnt none, apart from a couple of leaks.

Thanks to those of you that supported me

Hells Bells, well done that man!! Now drive it locally and near home for a few days to settle it down and check for faults. Sling some tools and fluids in the boot. Nice job Cliff, you must be really chuffed after all your troubles.

Cliffy - marvellous news. Well done for all your efforts and courage for giving it a go.

See you at the Surrey cruise on Sunday then.

Just one downside - what happened to the Curry evening??

Well done Cliffy!

Pretty much guarantees that it is going to rain for the next 6 months but heh ho

It will be interesting to see what sort of number you are making if and when you can it onto a dyno.

So you just need to smear a load of black mastic round the leaks and hey presto, done! That's what an expert would do, isn't it?

Yes, I've been busy the last few weeks, in Toronto on the Air France A340 accident and then at Airbus in Toulouse on a training course, then a glider accident in Essex...

Still, I hope to have a bit of time at home for a bit, I'll catch up with you soon.
