Rumour has it that this is a common problem with C5's. When mine was up on ramps for its MOT we noticed that there was a not insignificant amount of leakage from around the nearside diff area. Anyone managed to sort it? Is it an easy fix? (please don't say "warranty").

If you have never inspected that area before, it may be that it has been like that for some time and may have been been overfilled. I had the same problem but BM told me it had been overfilled at the factory! and they had drained some fluid out. Took that one with a pinch of salt but last time I looked it was bone dry. Check the level before you go any further.

This has been discussed on The Corvetteforum so you may learn a bit more there.

Hope you noticed that I didn't use the word "warranty". Bugger

I had a diff leak fixed under w**#$2ty fairly early in the cars life. It would have been v pricey otherwise. Apparently the old seals were a poor design. theres a TSB out which fits a replacement new type seal.

Watching all the comments on the CorvetteForum it's a very common problem.

recently I had a transmission leak which turned out to be the tech overfilling the transmission during a service.
