Finger F@cked.....

....well the middle one on right hand is......I hit it yesterday with a lump hammer and it smarted a lot at the time.
Last night it swelled up a lot so I went to the local hospital in Tewkesbury where they trapeened the nail to release the pressure (this involved sticking a hot needle thru my finger nail) and that hurt a lot.
They then decided to send me to Cheltenham for an X-ray to see if I had broken it as was very purple on the fleshy side as well as the finger nail side.
X-ray revealed I have broken the end bone into at least 3 pieces so I have to go to the fracture clinic tomorrow

Have to say the NHS service last night was brilliant, no waiting in Tewkesbury, or Cheltenham for either the nurses, doctors or X-Ray staff.

I very much know the feeling. I dropped a 50 kilo cabinet on my big toe years ago with pretty much the same result and treatment. The hot needle resulted in the nurse at A&E receiving a lovely fountain of blood all over her. Hope the recovery goes well.

Ouch! I've also got that particular T-shirt so you have my sympathy. Takes a while for the darned nail to sort itself out. Reminds you not to do it again though!

If not, was Brett involved and if so was it anything to do with him pushing you out of the way to get to some food??

2. The snake bit it?

No it didn't involve me, a snake and an engine but it did involve me, Franv8, sciencebird and a lot of blood

I remember fabricating a small part for one of my cars years ago, in a hurry of course, the 1/8th part drill broke and went right through my finger, nail, bone et al! That was a bit nippy as we say. then much later mk1 son was changing the shocks on his Mums Almera, had the spring compressors wound up far too tight, I wondered into the garage to see him wrestling with one shock in the vice, I instinctively shouted dont do that and stretched out my hand then, bang the spring shot off taking away one of my finer tips and braking 3 fingers. Not so nippy but bad enough!
