Dyno Day results.
Discussion
Had a great day to start off the season, and thanks to all that turned up especially the Donut Provider
.
I was quite pleased with my results as other than the Corsa exhaust which serves no purpose other than noise due to the Cats and stock headers being retained my motor is 100% unmolested stock.....oh almost forgot i have also installed an open face air inlet box.
It was also refreshing to see other stock cars still making good stock power that they made as they left the factory floor, one getting on for nearly 20 years old with 155,000 miles on the clock...hows that for reliable motoring.
I was also impressed by the modified cars, the Scooby and the two vipers that turned up,but ile leave that to the owners to post their own results.
My 1991 ZR-1 came from the factory with an alledged 375 Bhp and with nearly 52,000 miles on the clock she rang in with 378.5 Bhp.
This gives me an idea of the health of my motor(ime well pleased) aswell as giving me a base point to work from when modifieing.
A Good day out and thanks to all that attended,we hope to have a re-run around september time ,in which time i hope to have added a few mods.
If you have any ideas on the best date in September feel free to post.
Thanks.

Are all Corvette owners become donut addicts? I seem to remmeber there are a few of the Fairmile attendees who must have Krispy Kreme loyalty cards...
Cliff - if you're trying to get a feel for the difference some of your mods have, it's worth having a try with one of these G-Tech units. Okay, so they're a bit rough and ready, but for the same car tested on the same stretch of road you can get an idea of how many bhp you gain or lose after a change.
I used one on my MX5 when I tried out new plugs and then added a K&N. I picked up about 6Hp on the plugs! (not some crappy gimmicky 'adds 70000hp' ones, just new and a different grade) and found the the filter (element only) picked up 2-3. Quite fun to use too.
I know Gixer's got the more advanced model, but I don't think he's really used it yet.

I didnt pull the plugs and clean or renew them and think after a good service i could pick up a few more horses, and even fine tuning the fuel and air could bring a few more in.
Ime not familiar with the G-Tech units so i could do with some more direction on that ,ile have to watch over Bretts shoulder.
Cheers.

Dave, i was impressed that with just the exhaust and inlet tweaking you found another 34 horses, the car sounded good aswell.
Ime looking forward to Septembers D-Day already so we can all see the difference in possible up and coming mods in the summer, and what they really add up to.
Thanks for the mags etc.
Great day, enjoyed it immensely. Good job we met up Dave or I would never have found the place!
So for the second year running the C2 was in bits, thanks to Ecklers but I was pleased to see the Viper produced what it was supposed to even on a tight motor. Doughnuts and coffee were just what the doctor ordered. Will be up for September hopefully with a 'Vette!

ZR1cliff said:V10 BAT - DAVE - what is the 'inlet tweaking' you have had done, my 02 Z06 is getting a bit more ecu time soon when centre box come out for merger pipes, was going to shave the stop on the inlet to let it opena few more degrees, but have you done something internally to the inlet? Boosted has been giving me few tips.

Is this the Silver Z06 C5 that Charlie had on about a year back with around 390bhp - I used this graph when comparing mine whenmapping it?
Yes a great day - although slightly cool.
I was pleased with my figures 433hp and 425 tq which was a big improvement on last years 390hp and 370 tq. All that from the long tube headers, BB exhaust and a bit of help from the Vararam. No wonder the traction control is having a hard time. Next up Santa Pod and see if the power can be transfered onto the asphalt.
My best time was 12.89 @109.8 bone stock. If I can shave 0.6 off I'll be well pleased.Maybe with sticky tyres I could aim for the 11's..... I just hope the clutch is up to it.

michaelZ16 (do you mean Z06?)!?
Great day, many thanks to Vixpy for getting the AFRs in line, still needs some work on the top end. Interesting to see the Viper go down to 11.00 AFR at the top end.
My numbers were 374 at the wheels, better than last years 344. Replaced the blower and improved the fueling. It was 455 at the fly (assuming a manual) but since auto add another 20, making it 475.

Thanks for posting the results chaps - makes for interesting reading!
Cliff - the website for the gadget is this:
www.gtechpro.com/prod.html
I've got the old one on the far left. Not sure which Brettle has (one of the current ones tho).
I doubt they are the most accurate things in use, but as a comparison tool it's much better than seat of your pants.
Only problem I have is Sciencebird can get better 0-60's than me...
Cliff - if I get down to the Fairmile, or if you're at the Nationals or some other mutually attended event, I could bring it down for a play.
(Alternatively, there's the cheap old one (like mine) on Ebay for nothing these days:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/G-tech-GTech-Pe
I've got instructions so if you wanted one could help you out with how to use it.)
