What you listening to in your vette and how good is your system?.
Funny enough ime quite content with the system in the 91 Z,its the standard BOSE Gold system except ive fitted some uprated 50watt speakers.

Just lately ive taken a turn back into the 60's and 70's happy music with some motown thrown in and for some cruising on the chilled side a bit of Pink Floydd and Hawkwind.

I'm with you Cliff. I think my standard Bose system is perfectly good enough to listen to a bit of Joss Stone or U2 and Floyd (of course) when I've had enough of listening to my engine and exhaust (which isnt very often)

Hold Your Head Up

high.pos. chart entry
GB 4 3/72
US 4 6/72
D -

Hold Your Head Up
(Argent/White)

And if it's bad
Don't let it get you down - you couldn't take it
And if it hurts
Don't let them see you cry - you couldn't make it

Hold your head up, oh, hold your head up, oh
Hold your head up, oh, hold your head high
Hold your head up, oh, hold your head up, oh
Hold your head up, oh, hold your head high

And if they stare
Just let them burn their eyes on you moving
And if they shout
Don't let it change a thing that you're doing

Hold your head up, oh, hold your head up, oh
Hold your head up, oh, hold your head high
Hold your head up, oh, hold your head up, oh
Hold your head up, oh, hold your head high

Hold your head up, hold your head up, hold your head up ....

And if they stare
Just let them burn their eyes on you moving
And if they shout
Don't let it change a thing that you're doing

Hold your head up, oh ....

Hi CLiff.

Was that a black or red C4 blasting past Hatch Warren with "I've got a Silver Machine" at full chat?

Ya know, tonight has been a mellow evening, so the music in the Vette will be a little more relaxed as I drift off to pick up a drunken stepdaughter from ther leaving do tonight. Actually, if it gets much later I'll have to take the wife's Pug - the Vette is a little noisy in the close late at night.

Been listening to all sorts from punk to classics (no jazz tho - yuk) but recently got bought a Dire Straits compilation which I must say had a good effect on my mood in the New Forest this week. Think from memory I've got some Radiohead in slot right now.

Takes all sorts to make a world.

My Z06's stereo doesn't work so I have to listen to "silence is golden"....or a least I would if I had the car back

I like to listen to The Prodigy - Fat of the Land in the Evo, also listen to Metallica, Pink Floyd and The Sisters of Mercy

VHR - no wonder you're Mr Agressive when you drive!

I like my Bose speakers, have a (now slightly dated) Kenwood MASK CD player (the ones with the front that flips round). Except that one of my Bose speakers has gone and the amps are worth more than diamonds...

Last thing I listened to CD wise in the Vette, Faithless, kindly given to my by Sciencebird's parents!

Also been listening to the Chemical Brothers in the MX5, trouble is makes you drive too fast (but good with the current crop of good weather! Other listened items that could recommend:

THe Cult
Morcheeba
Groove Armada
Beastie Boys

And the list goes on!

Happy cruising everyone!

You are bang on the money as always. We were hoping to bump into you at VW, but didn't get to see you. If it is the one I am thinking of (I have 2 daughters and 2 stepdaughters) she works at the money factory full time. That is my eldest daughter (she's 21 in a week or so). The one that was out getting drunk last night was just leaving a part time job in a DVD retailer in town (while at UNI), and the other is in another town centre store part time with college studies. Well someone has to pay for the Vette!

My daughter at the money factory has mentioned that she spoke to another local guy with a Vette (or multiples) so I guessed that it must be you. Obviously, she could not say as customer confidentiality figures in her job.

She's a cute kid, has fun but has settled down nicely since she started a "proper job", and met a really decent bloke. He is car nut too - an engineer at AWE, has rebuilt his MGBGT from a new shell, currently building a good looking hot rod, a guitarist in a band, looks after her well... the list of talents goes on and on. She'll be away from the end of April, they are off for 2 weeks to the Caribbean... Alright for some - I am gutting the main bathroom at the mo.... well actually, I also have a few days work in Orlando while they are away so it ain't all bad.

Oh, that reminds me. Given your line of biz, do you know anyone reliable around here who can transport 6 people plus luggage to Gatwick in July and pick us up a week later?

Before anyone complains, back on topic, Manic Street Preachers today (Motorcycle Emptiness was especially loud) as I sloped off on another very expensive trip to bathroom stores in Farnboro......

In the Camaro (Bose system upgraded to one from an '02 Caddy Escalade - plenty good enough for me , feeeel Da Bass ) I listen to Megadeth, Iron Maiden, D12, Eminem, Specials, Bad Manners, Selecter, Sex Pistols, SLF, Ozzy - and so on.
In the Vette I have a very tasty Alpine stereo which is never on - can't hear a bloody thing over the chambered exhausts

Just in case there's any rockers living in fear that "they ain't made any decent music since 1979" the changer's always got plenty of room for,

Jane's Addiction - Strays
Seether - Disclaimer II
Death From Above 1979 - She's A Woman I'm A Machine
Nightwish - Highest Hopes
Green Day - American Idiot

and don't forget a bit of Girls Aloud - What Will The Neighbours Say?

Yes Unfortunately i was working late so couldnt make VW till later, your daughter did say she went,i did pick the both of them up in my cab a few weeks back,if ide have known about his interests ide of been hanging on his ear lol.
Best place for a 6 plus seater around here is Oakview on 01256 334500,hes a mate whos had a lot of experience in airport work and is not only reliable but very affordable.

Back on topic, ive found the net a good place to download single tracks to compile my own CD's.
Tracks like
"Wont get fooled again".... The Who
"Witch Queen of New Orleans" ....Redbone
"Lets live together" ....Canned Heat
"Satisfaction" .....Rolling Stones

Just a few good oldies incase youve forgotten
