The Cerbera had lots of reasons why it was a pretty secure car, but would
you advise I return to using steering lock when the C5 is left in public
places or is the built in security generally sufficient?

I still use a steering lock on mine, I think as a visual deterent alone its worth putting on

These cars are more or less unsteelable with the chiped key systerm, there are fifteen tyes of chip restence let alone the profile of key its self ! HOWEVER please all remember that it is possible to get a chiped key profile cut suited to your car, just from vin number clearly displald at the bottom of the windscreen.so you should slide a peice of paper down to cover it,long enough to retreive of course !
