I was thinking of renewing my 2001 C5 battery. What have you guys used, AC Delco? Optimate? Model No.? Supplier?

Lot's of Delcos and Optimas have been discussed. There's also a version available from your local Vauxhall dealer which might have the advantage of convenience. See,

If you havent got your battery sorted let me know as I supply Delco 9for 10+years) and Optima (as of this week)
I can advise on cca's etc and all that other tech junk

Without wishing to bang my own drum - the coniderations for a new C5 Battery are
1 - price/perfomance
2 - relaible supply
3 - good cranking and lengevity

I can supply both types of battery now Declo and Red top Optima's

In realtion to the choice
Delco = stock and should come with long warranty (sliding scale up to 6/7 years)
Optima have 2 year warranty and seem to have a good feedback re: usage both daily and weekend only

Delco = wet cell so could possibly leak (althought I have not heard of it in UK) wet cell means cant use delivery service to deliver so could be picked up from my suppliers in various locations in UK (see me for details) Optima can be easliy delivered as they are gell cell and leakproof so anyone can deliver

Delco pricing is stock £120, medium £130 heavy duty £135
Optima 4.2 800cca red top currently intro priced at £135 delivered

Please understan I am not in 'sales' mode simply stating the case as I see it for either battery - I would not be offended if supply was made elsewhere - you choose.
