Ive just taken delivery of some new brakes and wheels from a fellow vette owner and am going to set about replacing the stock ones on my 91 ZR-1,the calipers are 6 pot Brembos and the discs are 14-15",ive had to go with the bigger 18" wheels to clear the brakes and these are shod with Michelin Pilot Sports, ile take a few pics as i fit them and review how much of an improvement it makes to the car.

They are ,in the top picture the disc and caliper on the left is the size on my black Z,they are overshadowed by the larger discs and calipers.

This is the full kit with a seprate handbrake caliper for the rear.

Ime not sure of the make of wheels but they came as part of the deal with the brakes.

Ive fitted the wheels here but without the centre caps and brakes, also it needs to be lowered right down now the same as this Z in this pic with the same wheels.

I think they will look a lot better with spacers on the new brakes ,and lowered.

Looked and counted 3 times now, I'm sure that those are 5 spokes he has on now, aren't they?

for mere mortals who want pretty and functional rotors - I have signed up as a GRIPFORCE agent - not expensive I will have to report on their application, effectivness and longevity. good brakes dont have to be V expensive. also get good cooling - take off splash shields and put ot 5 + fluid in Castrol dot 6 will have to be changed every yera but I have good results (ie no fade) on my very heavyy but fast 80 on track days in the past

Keith - is there an option for '86 Z51 Corvettes (think despite Z51 I don't think I got bigger than stock rotors) - want to look at replacing mine before end of July...

Thanks!

Cliff,

What are you doing with your old brake parts? I assume the old discs are 13"? I'm looking for some rotors to test fit to my mew setup. Please e-mail me if you can help.

Those wheels look like Image L5's.

Thanks,

Robert
