Make a date for your diaries Vette Heads -30th June -7pm for the return of the tyre blistering, clutch shredding, umbrella bending

SHOREHAM DRAG RACE 'N' BBQ

Only the brave ( and good swimmers) need apply and dare to race for the prestigious

Fastest Kid in the Valley Award

This year, thanks to Straightliners, we will have a full pro tree set up with timing readouts including reaction times, 1/4 mile and 60ft speeds and times - there's no hiding place It'll be like Santa Pod but without the charm....

and the hamburgers

As before there will be a huge BBQ, known locally as a buffet and we have the whole airport to ourselves for the evening.
There will be plenty of room for those of you who have a rubber fetish that can only be relieved by the need for doughnuts

I have to have numbers of attendees a bit earlier this year (i.e. not half an hour before the start) as I can't stand the tension.

So PLEASE e-mail me at michaelz16 @ hotmail.co.uk and stick your name on this thread to encourage others.

Prices are still being sorted but will be around £25 per car plus £8 per person for food.
You will get as many runs as you or your tyres/clutch can stand and the racing will go on until about 10pm.

There are no noise restrictions so open headers are allowed and even encouraged
The evening is open to all Vettes plus 10 non Vette invitees -who are predominantly there for our amusement. . It is a fun event and mustn't be taken tooooo seriously.
Here's a few snaps from the Shoreham website

www.shorehamairport.co.uk/corvette.asp

I'll post more stuff as the date gets nearer- so stay tooned.

I am definitely up for some of this as it was great last year.

Please book one Twin Turbo Z06 plus 2 for the sumptuous feast afterwards

P.S. Can we book some warm dry weather for the evening this year?

If it's not a rude question, are you have mods done or problems sorted?

Ive got my fingers crossed Nige, and am looking forward to seeing her on the road 100% healthy.
As for my black one, once ive finished a few little jobs on the red one ime going to pull the cams and install new lifters on the passenger side then she should have a clean bill of health too.

We'll be there as last year, possibly bring the SS as well + son with Mustang, also Dieter has asked 3 mustangs (one was there last year but now with more power!) so it looks like 5 'others' may be spoken for already if thats ok. Will send you pm, Michael.

I'd have loved to go to this, but sadly my C5 is still awaiting the wheel bearing. Could bring the Monaro, its half vette anyway with LS1 engine (and 440hp) Chevy vs Holden could be a hoot!

This may seem a bit of a laim question, but what sort of grub do you have planned only I have started my diet in a hope that I may reach my racing weight by Friday and I am going to be ravernous by then?
