If you're going to Le Mans and haven't already sent payment to Gerard Planche you can avoid excessive UK bank charges by paying via your Paypal account. If you don't already have a Paypal account they're dead easy to set up at www.paypal.co.uk

Gerard's Paypal payment details are gerard.planche@fr.gm.com and you should note this is slightly different from his normal e-mail address. He's asked for payment in advance this year to help funding in view of GMs cut-backs so needs our full support.

IMPORTANT! You need to add a small % to your payment to cover the transfer cost as Paypal charge the receiver, not the sender. Adding 3% and then rounding up to a convenient whole number should cover it. Miuch preferable to pay a bit to Gerard than get fleeced by UK banks!

See you down there next week!

Adding 3% and then rounding up to a convenient whole number should cover it. Better to overpay a bit to Gerard than get fleeced by UK banks!

I did the transfer at the bank and accepted charges both ends - £10 my end. Hopefully Gerard will not be out of pocket but I will check when I get there and make up any difference.

Cheers!

Kev.

I was wondering if Gerard would pay a fee at his end. He shouldn't as the payment is being recieved in the same curency as his account (i.e Euros).

He confirmed today that my money had arrived, inferring that he had recived the total amount.

The form at Natwest gave me the option to pay charges at both ends, or just my end. Hopefully he has not been charged.
