This is the best that I can find Cliff

Leaving South Mimms services (M25 J23) at 9.30 (yes, earlier than last year since we have a lot further to go), we will cruise to the Nationals in convoy, expecting to arrive by 10.30 - in good time to enjoy the day's entertainment. Arriving in convoy should also make sense for speed of getting through the gate as well, since a predictable arrival time will make it easier for the committee to plan for enough gate staff to process us in smoothly.

If you're coming from the deep south, Hants, Devon or Dorset, the following timings are recommended to get to South Mimms on time:

7.10 a.m. Rownhams Services (M27 Northbound)

7.30 a.m. Winchester Services (M3 Northbound)

8.00 a.m. Fleet Services (M3 Northbound)

9.00 a.m. arrive at South Mimms (M25 Clockwise) with time for a coffee.

If you're coming from Sussex or Kent, you should meet at Clackett Lane Services (M25 Anti-Clockwise) in time to leave at about 8.10 a.m. – it’s a 50 minute drive to South Mimms if you travel at the legal limit. And, if you are coming round that way, beware the average speed cameras on the roadworks round J25 of the M25 (for which you might want to add another ten minutes, even on a Sunday morning), they’re set to 40mph and they work only too well, I’m told.

I would strongly suggest keeping well away from the top of the 25 - go around the bottom and through the tunnel or sit in some road works for an hour or so!!!

Highways agency link -

they say moderate delays though thats not what the radio reports everyday or what I experienced last time I went through the works. Add to that the fact that I have crossed the M25 Dartford bridge night after night with no hold ups in rush hour over the last few weeks - its obvious the traffic is necking down somewhere else

M25 junction 25 - 26 both ways
