Even if you're not lucky enough to win the prestigious "Fastest Kid in the Valley" title there's always the chance of picking up another award.

As compensation for Surrey region carrying off the Fastest Kid trophy last year MichaelZ16 is kindly allowing me to sponsor an extra award this year - "The Granny Tranny Challenge". Although final decisions on eligibility will be made by the organisers once all runs have been completed the prize (a bottle of champagne) will be available to the driver of a stock Corvette of any generation.

If the quickest Vette on the night is an auto the award will probably go to a stick-shifter. If the quickest Vette on the night is a stick-shift the award will probably go to an auto. Points may be awarded for style, enthusiasm or just about anything and all stock Vettes are eligible.

Now you can be a winner without winning!

Yes, so long as you've got no physical modifications!

Following the overall win by Highly Modified Vetteheadracer at 11.91 and some quick times from the C5 auto's [12.20 from Mrs Lightly Modified TEKWIZ and 12.27 from Just As It Left The factory 5 USA] the Granny Tranny Challenge was awarded to a surprised winner in the C3 auto category at 14.4 - not bad for an old 'un.

From what I saw of the timing sheet it looks as though just about everyone improved their times compared with last year. Well done the auto's!
