..was excellent, lots of cars etc. there, although the Vette contingent was a touch on the low side, consisting of a late black LT1 Corvette, a red C3, a yellow C3 and a red C5. Apparently we had a proper organised Corvette pitch, although it looks like there wasn't anyone there from the club.

Did everyone go to the yank meet at Knebworth instead?

Next year I'll sort out organising our pitch if there's interest to go.

Nice to meet Eddo there, and chat to a few other people, Corvette or not. Very hot and a great day to use another Tesco disposable BBQ!

I was trying to beat my pb of 15m 33s,but there were too many hills and coupled with the heat i did it in 18.17...also did the mile yesterday, this heat kills you
Next one is Winchester 5K on thurs.
I thought you would be doing the Bike thing today?

Ed - certainly - if you're up this way we'll have to sort something out. It was nice to meet you both too.

Cliff - cycling is next weekend (Sunday) - we've been cycling about 30 miles the 4 out of the last 5 Saturdays so think we're sort of prepared! (Watch next sun evenings post for some description of heat stroke/exhaustion/major puncture repair...)

3k time impressive - will be interesting to see what you'll do in the 5k (have you a target?)

Sounds cool, what sort of mileage will you both be doing on the day?,Good Luck with it!.

My pb for 5K is the 27mins mark so ime hoping to beat it although Winchester is very hilly and it will be hot so its going to be hard going.

Cliff - did a pb for the Peterborough 5k Grand Prix of 19:39 - well pleased with that - and on the hottest day of the year! But its quite flat here...

Cycle ride, for Breakthrough Breast Cancer - is just over 50 miles. Will have sore area of anatomy after this methinks...

,fantastic mate great time, how long have you been training?

Did my third ever 5K yesterday in Winchester,it was an actual road race and a bit more serious than the other runs i do so i thought just take it easy in this heat and i came in on 29 mins,i got lapped as the winner went past doing around 5.15 a mile he finished at 15.49.

It seemed to be all running clubs and out of over 300+ participants i came in 196th,well pleased seeing i started back in feb.

Get that cream out for your saddle area.

Cliff - great result there - with a bit more practice you'll soon be climbing the order!

Will search out the cream as suggested...

When's your next race?
