What if any, is the pattern of car depreciation in the US.

When I go on autotrader (U.S.) to have a quick look at Corvettes & Stangs the prices seem to be very high for 3 and 4 year old cars (1 & 2 years old in case of Stangs)

Do cars in the states depreciate really slowly or something?

With the import taxes etc, its hardly worth importing a slightly used car from the states.

Does this also affect the depreciation of US cars in the UK.

For example, corvettes seem to have completely unrealistic depreciation cycles. I would have thought that a 35K car would be worth 23K after 3 years, and 14K after 6 years, moving to 6 – 8K at the 10 year mark.

So why are people still asking for 15K for a 9 year old C5 vette in the UK. And more to the point, who’s paying it?????

It's to do with the way companies buy cars in the UK and write the value off against tax. You're right, US cars do depreciate far more slowly and realistically and it still amazes me that "old models" still don'ty depreciate - for example the Mustang Cobra which you would think would have become far less desirable now the 2005 shape is out.
