Well its only three weeks away, 20th August the ASDA charity day help us help kids who are less fortunate than our selves.

Format is different to last year, there are no bikes the track will be open all day but no doubt closed for lunch for the usual Hunter V Car etc cost is £5.00 per car as a donation only.

Loads of stalls celebs and things to see.

Only small problem is 100 db limit, I am told this is not going to be noise checked but they do have mics around the circuit so if you don't wang it in every gear we should all be OK.

I know the noise limit is a PITA but there is little I can do other than ask you all to take it down just a notch.

Rides costs are unknown at present but last year we raised over 13 grand for a terminally ill kids trip to Lapland at Christmas.

If you can attend you will need a pass so send me a PM and I will do the rest

Just cut my grass (i know, whats that got to do with this?) Well I just happened to notice that my garden blower/vac (electric I may add) has a sticker on it telling me that it is 102DB

Kind of brings home just how stupid a 100db limit is

Perhaps they should ban us from cuttung grass next....well they've already banned us from watering it

Daft question this from someone who has been in IT for well over 20 years, but how do we PM you on this board ? I don't see a link or anything anywhere, nor any hints in your profile ! I'd like to go this year.

though this way of emailing can be turned off by the user

100db is higher than the last VMAX event, that was 98db !

Seems too cheap to be true, £5?

How does this event differ from the charity day on the 3rd September (that costs £65)?

Is it open pit lane? What sort of cars are going?

20th is a Sunday? Erm? Saturday or Sunday?

Got heavy night on Friday so Saturday woyld be a write off but Sunday is a possibility. How about turning up on the day, is this possible?

Nipped down there on Sunday to check out the Vulcan restoration and saw a few Lambo's searching for grip on the final corner of the track. Could be tempted if it's not raining and the hangovers shifted - anything for the kids!!!!

Thanks guys looking to see loads of Vettes this Sunday hope you all have passes if not email me at paul@pccare.co.uk and I will email on straight back, and yes its not a pre book the £5.00 is going to the charity.

If we don't hoon it about the noise should be no problem as my wife says I can be silent but deadly...

Looking forward to seeing loasd of vett's in the rear view and the side and in front and .......in fact everywhere.

And the best bit is if you have never done a track day then this is a brilliant introduction so give it a try.

My car made 108db at Trax a couple of weeks ago so wouldn't even bother going to Bruntingthorpe.....BTW My petrol strimmer makes 110db....the same as Nad's Viper with side pipes.....but as far as I know I can strim wherever and when ever I want.

Bit confused, the on-your-marks.me.uk site has this down as an ASDA staff day for colleagues or folk with passes. The passes has just been mentioned but I'm just unsure of whether our cars are required for passenger rides or we just get to drive on the track ourselves?

I certainly don't mind doing my bit for charity but would feel like a bit of a gooseberry if the ASDA folks suddenly start pointing fingers and tutting.

Quite right it does but not every staff member has a suitable car so thats why we get invited.

Sign on Time 8:30 (you can come late but chance the DB meter)

Track Time 9:30 to 5pm trust me you will be tired, but the smile.........priceless

Rides are one (1) hot lap.

Full fete style facilities stalls food entertainment, last year drivers got bacon rolls bring your misses get her to drive an artic with trailer, see air displays like the utterly buttery wing walkers Yak etc.

A brilliant family day and give kids who you wont see next year a ride to remember,

Vipers Porsche TVR Ferrari Lambo and loads more

Seems a bit clearer now.....but still a tad cloudy, think it's the morning blues.

So are all the cars lined up in some "pits" and the kids pick whichever car they fancy a ride in, parents donate a bit of cash (or do we pay as we get to drive), and we're off?

Being a big kid myself could I get a ride in a Lambo and donate some reddies?

Final question, do we have to stay with the cars all day and be available for rides or can we wander off and check out the other stuff going on?

Each car mark has its own pit, riders simply wait in the pit they fancy and off they go so yes you can ride in a Lambo....They do however every year promise thirty cars advert on web sit etc..and normally if you are lucky one turns up for a couple of hours, no Ferrari pits....ever.

Last year I did over thirty five laps was out all day and the Vipers and Vett's had the biggest waits

Just email you for a pass. Assuming it's dry I'll be there nice and early, if it's like last weekend and bucketing down I'll have to keep it at home. I'd want the kids to enjoy the rides, not to be as afraid as me!!
