Spotted last night. The driver's side has a brown film on it(something to do with photochromatic or whatever the word is?). I realised this because 2 strips, a couple of centimetres by 1 millimetre, have come away at the edge. Does anyone know how I might repair this? The glass is not available separately and I know from personal experience that all in a replacement mirror does not leave change from £400

Interestingly the passenger mirror does not seem to have this film; looking across the colour of the glass looks the same as the driver side glass where the film has come away. Now in 5 years of ownership I have never spotted this colour difference, maybe it was the light playing tricks. Alternatively, a couple of years back I had the passenger mirror replaced, maybe it came with different glass?? My car was UK spec new from Frosts and the mirror was replaced by Frosts. All very bizarre.

The passenger mirro does not have electrochromic glass whereas the driver's side and the internal rear view mirror do. Suspect its something to do with the electrochomic bits that you've noticed.
