Well, after selling my lovely ZR-1 to Cliff, and having about a year out, without a Corvette...

I just cannae take it anymore.

So, I'd like a C5 Z06 (I'd actually like a C6 Z06, but money's a bit too tight for that!!)...

Does anybody know of any around - budget up to £25K - to save me trawling the usual places??

F45 suspension option was not available on the Z06 so I'd be careful about that one if I were you...

It looks like a genuine car, just a not too knowledgable owner........

I reckon this is an even better buy - a few extras, low mileage, and by far the best colour

No, not really. To be honest, I don't really mind. I was happy to pay what I did for the car, and it certainly doesn't disappoint. Nothing changes that, and it's a 100% genuine car, with one owner who looked after it fastidiously. Yes, the yellow one looks great, but it's only £3500 cheaper on a private sale. I bought through a dealer, and it was six months ago, so what the hell?
Just as a note, and by way of comparison, I've got a DB7 GT outside at the moment (borrowed, I hasten to add!!), and TBH, I really prefer the Vette. It just seems to hang together better. Must be something to do with the AM being a £115,000 car with Mondeo switch gear. Yes, the V12 is sublime, but I still prefer the LS6. So, even at £30,000, I reckon the Z06 would be a bargain; roll on the second-hand C6 Z06's.

Just thought I would let you all know that my yellow C5 Z06 as advertised on pistonheads, has now been sold to a dealer for £25k.
Someone is going to get a very good and exciting car.

Is that the one you had advertised for £22500? How'd you manage to get a dealer to give you more than you were asking? I'll have to try when I get ready to trade mine in a year or so!

Damn! I was looking at your ad dreaming that it was November already when hopefully I may be in position to get one! I may also have been guilty of secretly hoping it wouldn't sell till nov when I would've snatched it hehe

It was a bundled deal including a 99 C5 with Z51 etc, for a new fully spec C6 with paddle shift etc. colour etc of my choice.
They gave me 17k for the low mileage C5 (10,000 miles)so not so generous with this one.
I had thought of a direct import, but that would have left me with 2 cars to sell and would have needed funds for the purchase.
Doing it this way has probably cost me an additional 3/4K, but its hassle free, and I dont have to do the SVA work/paperwork, as well as getting some sort of 3 year warranty, and its still cheaper than from Europe.
I am considering however another C5 Z06 but younger,(say 04) from the states.
Regards.
