Hi Matt,

Saw you this evening as you motored in towards Ash Vale from the A331 Mytchett turn off.

That was the dirtiest Z06 I've ever seen - but at least it looked as though it had been given some stick to and from Somerset ! Le Mans Blue ? More like Black !!

(I'd ignore the hosepipe ban, or you'll be carrying buckets for hours !)

Best Regards
Chas

That'll be mine...still with SR111 on the rear window this morning after the Mopar nationals this weekend.

Saw 4 Z06s including my own this weekend.
2 Le Mans Blue ones at the Corvette PDI centre where I collected my tyrers from, and a yellow one at Santa Pod in the spectator parking area.
The Z06 attracted alot of positive attention at the Pod, very pleasing that so many people like the modern muscle as much as the classic stuff.

Hi Chas,

Glad you've seen it now! That was still Bisley dust on the car. I planned to wash it this weekend but the rain in Somerset meant that made no sense. Looks beautiful with rain on it though.

It is thanks to Racing Green (as well as to my ex in Yateley) that I had enough local knowledge to be able to get round the (apparently) 10 mile tailback on the M3 by hopping off at jct 4a and nipping through to Bisley the back way. Shame you didn't see me on the Frimley Green to Brookwood twisties - griptastic!

All the best,

Matt

Sad to hear that mine won't be the only LMB one in the UK anymore.

Have to say I've been really chuffed with the ENORMOUS numbers of double-takes, thumbs-ups and "nice car mister"s over the weekend! Even girls seem to like it. Also the utterly STONKING acceleration in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

Bad points: (i) it's too easy to find yourself travelling at 120 units when it feels like 95, espcially just after booting it out of a roundabout; and (ii) erm, where's the water coming from that I saw dribbling out from behind the front tyres on Saturday...?

Most likely it's condensation coming from the aircon..........

I do hope so!

Never had an a/c car before so not used to that sort of thing. It's an explanation I hadn't thought of but one that reassures me enormously, true or not!

Hi Cheeky,

I agree, probably air con condensate. Jaguars do that too.

By the way what was wrong with the acceleration in 5th and 6th ?!!

Bisley Dust, you say ? Is that Gunpowder !! ? What happens when the exhaust flaps open ?

It was very dusty at Bisley the week before last - ten hours after washing the car it looked filthy!

6th gear acceleration is no better than a "normal" car's - it's more like an overdrive.

5th has much less punch than 4th, which hits you like a normal fast car's 1st!

Below 3000rpm on the motorway most of the (not much) noise is from the tyres. Above that, it sounds scary - like a machine gun firing 4000 to 7000 rounds per minute!
