Thanks Cuban. Not sure what the deal is yet tomorrow. I may be meeting Cheeky after his event at about 5:30-ish but it's not confirmed yet.

Are you local to Bisley? If you want you can email me your mobile and I can text you if we end up meeting up. Otherwise it seems Cheeky is up for organising a proper gathering at Bisley in the future (see other thread).

Erm that looks bloody good in Black, just finished reading the articles and what is going to astound a lot of owners is if these cars are really as quick as they sound then when the yank aftermarket shops start turning out the usual bolt on goodies is how much relatively cheap extra horse power there will be available to really knock on the doors of some of these other super car manafacturers.

Exactly Cliff. The 2 clinchers for me buying a Z06 were a) seeing that Lingenfelter change just the cam, air intake and headers and claim a 2 year warranteed 616bhp for a measly $5.5k and b) watching Tiffany slide that yellow Z06 the WHOLE way round that massive hairpin in France and declaring the following week whilst testing the 599 Fiorano that the "Z06 was more fun".

Like most of my previous cars, I'm viewing the stock item as just the starting point.
(Although I must admit, I'm nowhere near exploiting the potential of said starting point yet. Took it up to nearly 6k in 3rd today and simply cannot imagine how it could be any faster!)

Yup. The 3 year warranty could turn out to be very useful (and will make it easier to sell, should I want to sell it within 3 years!)and you don't have to mess about with changing indicators, fog lights etc.

Plus Euro cars don't have that CAGS nonsense that everyone has to bypass.

I had a chance to have a good look at Cheeky's LMB UK car today and my car really is identical, right down to the 320 speedo.

We had an awesome blast along some twisty and relatively quiet Surrey lanes that he knows.

Plus we took some great pics at Bisley shooting range and even had a 100 yard sprint!

I've just been contacted by a Florida-based Z06 owner about submitting a journal to my site, so we are going to be quite a Z06 reference site! But other Vettes are also welcome, just have a look and see if you want to be involved.

It was great to meet you David. It was great that we got a clear run at the second set of twisties.

Your black Z06 is gorgeous. And it looked very menacing in the rear-view mirror!

For the others: that doesn't mean he was slow; not in the slightest. I was just showing him the route and he filled the mirror at times!

The more time I spend with the Z06, the more amazing it seems.

You need to upload them to your server space, then do this [pic]http:// www.yourserver.com/image1.jpg [/pic]

However, if you don't have server space, I can host them for you, I'd already sent an email.

Oi that was a BLUE Z06 (admittedly a few hours before washing all the dust off...).

The C3 is my friend Jermey's and was my ride up to the Nationals.

We were training with the GB team that is about to go to Canada, so thanks for not interrupting, but you ought to have left a note on the windscreen!

Did my first track outing yesterday evening with Autocar at the Bedford Autodrome.

WOW! That was just about the most fun track day ever! The Z06 is simply awesome. It devours the straights, monstering all the other cars there including Porsche RS's etc, and is absolutely hilarious on corners.

I did the first 15 minutes in Competitive Driving Mode where you can basically take huge liberties and it will always rescue you before it spins (but still allows some oversteer).

Then I tried it with all TC and AH off and it was actually really controllable with readily available oversteer, but only if you choose to induce it.

Had a few spins finding the limit, but the beauty of Bedford is that, bar one corner, there is nothing to hit.

If you haven't taken your Z06 to a track yet then you absolutely have to. It's what it was built for and it is very good at it.

Keep tuned to Auto-Journals for a write up in a couple of weeks (I have to allow my other writers to get some entries in!).

The only reasonably good one on my camera is here:

That's a 100mph corner in the Z06 and the rear is stepping out nicely...

I have an almost identical picture of my car being driven by John Barker, slightly sideways through that corner!
Did look good
