Thanks Ian, great underbody shot! That exhaust system is massive.
I took my car to Ian for a precautionary oil change now it is run in at just under 700 miles.
Has anyone else bothered to do this?
The German dealers seem to recommend it, Stratstone don't seem to be bothered.
Ian was as friendly as I remember from American Carriage Company days (15 years ago!) and had the right oil and filter waiting for me.
He also checked anti-roll bar bolts and fitted jacking pucks to the appropriate points on the underside so that future jacking can be done without fear of putting a hole through the carbon fibre/balsa wood floor!
He also cleaned the car as you can see. Black IS a pain, but worthwhile I think.
Took it to 7000rpm in the first 4 gears and wow, there are really VERY few cars on the planet that could live with a wrung-out Z!

Ah, that I don't know. My guess is that GM would only pay for f.o.c. work to be done via one of their dealers, i.e. Stratstone.
But using Ian in the interim would not invalidate your warranty.

Buying a C6 Z06 from the U.S. and importing it to the UK automatically invalidates any GM warranty if it is the same as the C5 Z06.........I know as I had a small fault with my C5 Z06 and when I tried to claim for the work (carried out buy GM warranty specialists Bauer Millett) I was told by Cadillac Europe to go f@ck myself in no uncertain terms.
UK supplied cars get a warranty US supplied cars don't simple as that in my experience.
I like the C6 Z06 better than the standard C6 but given that looks like it had a fight with an ugly stick and lost that really isn't saying much......having said that once inside you don't get to see the outside so maybe the best approach is either blindfold or with your eyes shut.........

ooooh cut to the quick
Such a beautiful and mean looking beast if you ask me
But then I am a little bias these days

I don't like the headlights but other than that the Z06 looks gorgeous.
And judging from the crowds it draws at Santa Pod, even when parked amongst some awesome and extreme machinery, I reckon most discerning people agree!
Godzilla, your looks superb in black. It's the colour I wanted but I had to take silver or wait for ages. Isn't it good to wring it out to 7,000 rpm! Have you noticed the shift light that appears in the HUD? Change up just as that appears and you won't hit the limiter.

At least the limiter is "soft", as I discovered when I hit 61mph in 1st last week...

Looks wise I think the Z06 is the best looking Vette since the 1991 onwards ZR1 (i.e. newer nose).
But the one weak point of its design is the very square grill below the nose, that does look very underdesigned and black disguises it best IMO.
I haven't noticed the shift light. Is it a different colour from the rest of the HUD? Don't often venture near 7k, but I'm off on my first track outing in the car at Bedford this evening, so will have plenty of opportunities to use the g-meter and shift light. ;-)
What's the most g anyone has seen on their HUD?
So far only a puny 0.92 on a roundabout, expect to beat that tonight, unless it rains!
