What do you guys think to a track day at castle coombe, exclusive to Corvette owners, max of 30 cars?

I'll see how it handles at Silverstone in a few weeks and maybe possibly Bruntingthorpe on Sunday. It's not the best handling car on the road and as I found out round Le Mans the brakings not top notch either. I wouldn't want to become a mobile chicane for the Z06 boys!

Absolutely count me in if this happens! CC is one of my favourite tracks.

Standard cars should be OK, but it may be worth checking the noise limits on your proposed day as some modded ones may not get through.

Any idea of cost? (to get in, not of course that of tyres, replacement brakes and the amount of gas that a 5.7 litre mill consumes on the track...)

Don't wish to rain on your parade as I would definitely be up for it but Castle Coombe has a rubbish noise policy due to over zealous numpties living locally complaining and the last 3 times I have been there I haven't been allowed on track.

Last Classic and Sports Car day I attended 2 years ago all the C3's, my C4 with a Corsa exhaust and all the C5's failed to 105db limit. Unless they agree to a 110db limit none of the Corvette's will pass.

I would find out the noise limit for the day and then try to arrange a day.

There are a couple of alternative venues being considered, CC is quite a good location, but we do also have a relationship with Thruxton.

Could be up for this, but will depend if I am away.

I'd be well up for it. Castle Combe's a great circuit and Thruxton is pretty hairy around the back section thumbup although did rip the sump off my E30 racecar there in May yikes

Count me in. When is this 'likely' to happen?

Yup me too. One of these days I'll get the line through Avon and Quarry right!

Chris Farmer at our Cardiff site is in the process of arranging available dates/venue etc. He spent several years organising track days for manufacturers, including TVR (and is therefore aware fo noise restrictions) so hopefully can get us a good deal on track time even with the limited number of car we want to go along. I'll try and get him to give me some dates this week.
