xlr is to cease production this spring at the bowling green plant in Kentucky.

Dealers will be buying them in to capitalise on increased demand from enthusiasts keen to preserve a slice of automotive history! Perhaps.

Seems they only built 1,100 2008 XLRs (down from about 4,000 five years ago) plus 400 XLR-Vs. Not a lot of cars.

Given the XLR has been built on its own dedicated production line I wonder what they'll use that for in future? Maybe the limited production ZR1 won't be so limited after all.

Hmm. Looks like I could put Mystic Meg out of business...

They certainly won't be upping ZR1 production. It will be part of (hopefully the end of) downsizing at Bowling Green.

Are you sure it's on a dedicated line? I seemed to recall that it wasn't.

"The Cadillac XLR is built on a separate line from the Corvette. They share the same frame and both use fiberglass body panels."

The Vette is built on a full-blown production line but IIRC the XLR facility is much smaller.

I have to say it's a great looking car in anything but black, I would love to own one it's just the resale side of things! I think you would own it for life the great thing Is a hardtop convertible. It's a shame Cadillac never gave more power on the base cars.

I actually thought it felt pretty quick. Not vette quick but so what. To be honest Rob you could probably pick one up pretty cheap now.

I only know of one for sale the black one at Stratstones!! The wheels look awful! too much bling and shame it's in black.
I did see Ian goss services was doing an SVA on a brand new XLR-V. lick
