I just had a look at blat chat, as I thought it might be a bit more active on the Caterham front, but it looks like you need to join the lotus7 club first - which costs £45, but the worst bit is you need to print off a form and send via post. It all seems so long winded and old fashioned.

Yeah, it can also be a bit clicky. Some decent technical posts but a lot of stuff and recommendations that are balls. Much like most internet forums really.
You only need to join if you intend to post, pretty sure you can use it as a refernece for free.

Definitely not worth the cost, and the aggro of posting on BC. The mag is full of adverts, and has little editorial substance.
L7club has some great owners within the club - but the management team are truely abysmal a real disgrace, a bunch of tossers.
Such an iconic car deserves much much better.
Go along to your local L7 club meet, some of the local organisers are phenomenal, organising many local events -depends where you live.

CHL - definitely worth the cost and (slight bit of) hassle in joining. Low Flying has undergone a real transformation of late iand has much better content nowadays, and the tech talk bit of BC has saved me many a few quid many times. Membership has more than paid for itself.

Not sure who has pissed you off, but I know several members of the management team and a nicer, more enthusiastic bunch of people you couldn't hope to meet. Oh and al of them have been A/Os at some time or otherL7club has some great owners within the club - but the management team are truely abysmal a real disgrace, a bunch of tossers.

The magazine is excellent too...I'm assuming you haven't been a member for some time?
He (S47) is happy to gripe all the time even when it wash his behavior and truly offensive posts that got himself banned.
But I bet he is happy enough to read the mag as his partner is still a member. He is also more than happy to attend Club events eg parks on the Club stand at Stoneliegh.
IMHO you should be allowed to attend say 3 events local meets and then you should stump up the coin. Otherwise you clearly do not value it.
This could be said about any club or organisation by the way.

Well worth joining IMO, just be aware and set your expectations, and you won't be dissapointed.
By far the best things the club does is organising events, such as Dunsfold and the Sprint Championship which I will be in for the first time this year.
All of the local area meetings I've been to are friendly and helpful, though for work reasons, I rarely get to any.
Magazine is good, especially given the budget to do it.

What a profoundly offensive post; I am actually a member of the Management Team and I am seriously unimpressed at being described in such offensive terms. We haven't met or even spoken - and to be honest all I can remember of you when you were a member was some paranoid nonsense which you posted on Blatchat. I do not know or care what problems you may have with L7 Club but I am not prepared to let the sort of crap you have posted above go unanswered . The club is well worth the annual fee, in my opinion. You can recoup the fee from the club discounts (e.g 10% off Halfords) alone if the costs are your concern.
The club is also well managed and I think they put up with a lot of unnecessary flak, particularly given they are all volunteers.
